The premise is simple. Boy meets car. Boy gets bullied. Boy falls in love with car. Car wants to protect it’s master. Boy realizes that car is clearly evil – but likes it and is completely overtaken by it. Boy and car kill bullies. Boy can’t cut the ties that bind to the car.  We won’t spoil the end for those that haven’t seen the ending of 1983’s Christine, but it’s safe to say that of the many Stephen King-inspired feature films, Christine is close to the top of the heap. If it’s not the classic car, the boy getting vengence on bullies that absolutely will not stop, or the vehicle-based rage you are witness to – then it’s the gorgeous girlfriend and the pace of this film that make it special. Check out the superbly in-depth Perspective Review of director John Carpenter’s, Christine, 1983.
